Abstract
This By-law of the Interstate Commission for Water Coordination in Central Asia (ICWC), which is created by the Almaty Agreement on co-operation in common management of international water resources use and protection, sets out the general framework for the functioning of the ICWC. It defines the main objectives of the Commission and outlines its structure. The ICWC is a coordination mechanism of Central Asian States for the management of common water resources. The By-law also lists duties of the Commission such as approval of water-intake limits from interstate water sources and of Basin Water Organizations (BWOs) for Amudarya and for Syrdarya.
