Abstract
This Law establishes requirements for sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the population that shall be applicable to environmental monitoring, some restrictive arrangements such as quarantine, foodstuffs and raw materials of animal, mineral and artificial origin used for the manufacturing of foodstuffs. The Act consists of six Chapters divided into 32 articles: (1) general provisions; (2) state regulation; (3) the rights and the duties of natural and legal persons, and individual entrepreneurs in the sphere of environmental protection; (4) sanitary and epidemiological enterprise; (5) organization and carrying out anti-epidemic (preventive) arrangements; (6) final provisions. Food additives and packaging materials used potable water and foodstuffs, imported for the first time, shall be subject to compulsory state registration. Sanitary and epidemiological requirements shall be set for: (a) foodstuffs, processing, transportation and trade thereof; (b) public catering; (c) water supply system and recreational water use; (d) atmospheric air; (e) soil; (f) management and disposal of industrial and domestic waste.
