Abstract
The Law consists of 4 Chapters composed of 18 articles. The present Law regulates social relations in the sphere of prevention of iodine deficiency disease and regards manufacturing, import, export, trade, ensuring quality and safety of iodinated salt and other foodstuffs enriched with iodine. The purpose and the target of the present Law is to promote manufacturing and trade of foodstuffs enriched with iodine. White salt and fodder salt manufactured on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan shall be subject to compulsory iodination. Iodinated white salt destined for trade on the national territory shall be subject to compulsory certification. Import of iodinated white salt shall not be authorized in the absence of compliance certificates. Packages of iodinated white salt and foodstuffs enriched with iodinated salt must contain the following information labelled in the state and in the Russian languages: 1) food value; 2) iodine contents; 3) purpose and modalities of use; 4) terms and conditions of storage.

Entry into force notes
The Law enters into force from the date of its official publication except for item 4 of the Article 11.
Notes
Item 4 of the Article 11 enters into force six months after enactment of the present Law.
