Abstract
Master Plan for Beef Cattle Sector Development till 2020 is multi-sectoral nationwide policy document with the goal of creating conditions for the development of beef cattle sector.
Master Plan for Beef Cattle Sector Development till 2020 sets forth the following objectives: (a) increasing the breeding stock of beef breeding cattle and conducting breeding work; (b) increase of breeding stock of marketable herd of cattle, slaughter weight of cattle of meat direction of productivity; (c) construction of feeding grounds with developed infrastructure; (d) construction of modern livestock markets; (e) introduction of information systems for the identification of animals, traceability of the origin of animal products that meet the requirements of meat-importing countries; (f) improvement of farmers' skills, development of knowledge transfer and commercialization of technologies; and (g) improvement of the regulatory framework.
Target indicators: (a) increasing the number of breeding stock of beef cattle up to 350 thousand heads by 2020; (b) increasing the number of breeding stock of marketable cattle up to 1.8 million heads by 2020; (c) increasing feedlot capacity up to 350,000 cattle places by 2020; and (d) creation of at least five livestock markets by 2020.
Types of state support: (a) subsidizing the interest rate on loans; (b) subsidizing the breeding business; (c) production subsidies; (d) investment subsidies; (e) insurance of cattle; (f) subsidizing of consulting services costs.
