Ministerial Decree No. 104 validating Sanitary Regulation “Sanitary and epidemiological requirements for water sources, water abstraction points for economic and potable purposes, economic and potable water supply, places of recreational water uses and safety of waterbodies.”

This Ministerial Decree establishes sanitary and epidemiological requirements for protection of the sources of water supply against pollution, determination of the boundaries of sanitary water protection zone related to potable water supply, sets forth quality standards for potable water, water supply waterworks and sewerage system, water disinfection and centralized hot water supply. It shall be applicable to centralized and non-centralized water supply systems (either for economic activities or potable water supply), and also to waterbodies for recreational water uses. In case of emergency situations that may cause deterioration of potable water quality or conditions of water supply operating organizations shall immediately undertake the necessary arrangements for the restoration of the normal water quality and water supply and shall inform territorial body of sanitary and epidemiological service within 24 hours from the moment of identification of emergency.
