Abstract
This Order validates the list of veterinary medicinal products whose circulation is prohibited in Kazakhstan. It instructs the Veterinary Control and Supervision Committee to publish and register the act.
The first annex establishes restrictions on the registration and use of numerous veterinary medicines, particularly antibacterial chemotherapeutic products used for prophylactic purposes or to enhance animal productivity. It prohibits the use of many substances in food-producing animals, aquaculture, and beekeeping where residues could enter the human food chain. The list includes specific antibiotics and antimicrobials (such as amoxicillin, doxycycline, enrofloxacin, florfenicol, and chloramphenicol under defined circumstances), growth-promoting substances, anabolic and androgenic steroids, beta-agonists, nitrofurans, nitroimidazoles, malachite green, and various other compounds considered unsuitable for use in animals producing food for human consumption.
The second annex prohibits the registration, use, growth-promotion application, disease prevention, and treatment use of a range of antimicrobial agents and antimicrobial groups in productive animals, including aquaculture species and bees. These include critically important antibiotic classes such as carbapenems, monobactams, glycopeptides, lipoproteins, oxazolidinones, advanced cephalosporins, glycylcyclines, and related compounds. The annex also bans a number of antiviral medicines (including oseltamivir, favipiravir, molnupiravir, ribavirin, zanamivir, and others) as well as nitazoxanide for protozoal diseases, reflecting a policy of reserving important human medicines and limiting antimicrobial resistance risks associated with animal production.
