Abstract
This Order validates the State Register of Breeding Achievements Recommended for Use in the Republic of Kazakhstan and a separate List of promising agricultural plant varieties. The order establishes the legal basis for maintaining and publishing the register, sets out implementation procedures, and assigns responsibility for its execution to the relevant agricultural authorities. The annexes form an integral part of the order and provide the detailed technical information necessary for application in the agricultural sector.
The main body of the register contains a comprehensive catalogue of plant varieties and hybrids authorized for cultivation and use in Kazakhstan. The varieties are grouped by crop type, including cereals, legumes, oilseeds, forage crops, technical crops, vegetables, fruits, and ornamental plants. For each variety, the register provides information such as the year of inclusion, regions where cultivation is recommended, breeder or originator, and key agronomic characteristics. The register serves as an important tool for seed certification, variety identification, agricultural planning, and the regulation of plant breeding activities throughout the country.
The annexes also include a list of promising varieties that have potential for wider adoption, along with detailed reference materials explaining classification systems, regional suitability codes, biological and economic traits, and breeder information. The document identifies both national and international breeding institutions responsible for developing the listed varieties, reflecting Kazakhstan’s collaboration with domestic research organizations and foreign partners. Overall, the order functions as both a regulatory instrument and a technical reference, supporting agricultural productivity, varietal improvement, and the sustainable development of Kazakhstan’s crop production sector.
