Order No. 32-Ө of the acting Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources validating the Regulation on the Committee of Forestry and Wildlife of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.

Committee of Forestry and Wildlife is a government body and department within competence of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, carrying out strategic, regulatory, implementation, control and supervisory functions in the field of forestry, protected natural areas and wildlife. The Committee shall carry out the following tasks: (a) performance of regulatory, implementation, control and supervisory functions in the field of forestry, protected natural areas, protection of reproduction and use of wildlife, responsible treatment of animals, conservation and reproduction of Kazakh dog breeds, protection, conservation, restoration and use of flora; and (b) performing the strategic functions of the central executive body within its competence. The Committee shall have the following rights: (a) to adopt binding regulatory legal acts within the limits its competence; and (b) to request and receive in accordance with the procedure established by law from government bodies, organizations, their officials necessary information and materials. The Committee shall perform the following functions: (a) carries out ownership and use of the state forest fund; (b) forms and implements state forest policy; (c) organizes and ensures protection, conservation, reforestation and afforestation, regulates forest management on the territory of the state forest the fund under its functional jurisdiction; (d) carries out state control and supervision over the condition through inspections, protection, conservation, use of forest resources, reforestation and afforestation; (e) carries out state control and supervision through inspections over quantitative and qualitative changes in the forest fund, its sanitary condition; (f) ensures development and approves estimated cutting areas on sites of the state forest fund and the age of felling; and (g) develops and approves rules for maintaining state forest inventory.
