Abstract
This Order validates standardized informational signs for fisheries waterbodies and fishing areas, as well as a standard catch-recording fishing logbook. The order requires the Fisheries Committee to ensure state registration and publication of the regulation.
The regulation provides detailed templates for four types of fisheries information signs: (1) signs marking spawning and reproduction areas where fishing is prohibited during specified periods, (2) signs marking permanent no-fishing “rest zones,” (3) signs identifying fisheries waterbodies and fishing areas, including information on the fisheries operator and administrative penalties for unauthorized fishing, and (4) signs indicating temporary fishing bans in specific places and periods. Each sign must contain information in both Kazakh and Russian and include a map or schematic representation of the relevant water body or area.
In addition, the order establishes the official form of the fisheries catch log (commercial fishing logbook), which records information such as catch date, waterbody or fishing area, fishing gear used, number and identity of fishers, catch volume, species composition, released fish, shipment details, and verification by fisheries inspectors. The regulation also specifies technical requirements for the signs, including dimensions, installation height, color schemes for different sign categories, and placement of maps on the display boards.
