Order No. 354 of the Minister of Agriculture validating the Regulation of keeping wild fauna species in captive and semi-captive conditions.

This Order establishes the procedure for keeping wild fauna species in captive and semi-captive conditions. Captive keeping of wild fauna species shall be intended keeping animals in cages, enclosures, aquariums, terrariums, swimming pools and other special premises. Semi-captive keeping of wild fauna species shall be intended keeping animals in conditions close to natural habitats, where they are predominantly fed by natural forages, but are unable to move freely outside the an artificially isolated natural site. Keeping animals in captive and (or) semi-captive conditions shall be performed for the following purposes: (a) for economic purposes (animals not pertaining to species destined for hunting and fishing); (b) for scientific, cultural, educational and aesthetic purposes; (c) for rescue and rehabilitation purposes; (d) for business purposes - animals and products received from them; (e) for hunting purposes; (f) for the purposes of introduction, reintroduction and productivity increase of hunting grounds; and (g) 7) for the purpose of hybridization, in order to increase productivity of kept animals. Keeping wild fauna species in captive and semi-captive conditions shall be authorized in the presence of documents confirming the legality of acquisition of wild animals and availability of conditions for their keeping, including equipped cages, aquariums, terrariums, swimming pools, enclosures and other special areas and/or premises.
