Order No. 564 of the acting Minister of Science and Higher Education validating the Regulation on the formation, keeping and maintenance of working collections of pathogenic and industrial microorganisms used in scientific and industrial activities.

This Regulation establishes the procedure for the formation, keeping and maintenance of working collections of pathogenic and industrial microorganisms used in scientific and industrial activities. A working collection of strains of pathogenic and industrial microorganisms of subjects handling pathogenic biological agents is intended (created) to solve specific current problems within the framework of scientific, industrial, diagnostic, and research purposes. To study unique pathogenic and industrial microorganisms, working collections are created in organizations authorized to form, keep and maintain national collections of pathogenic and industrial microorganisms. Working collections contain strains of pathogenic and industrial microorganisms isolated from various sources to solve specific problems, in particular: (a) diagnosis of infectious and (or) parasitic diseases; (b) identification of isolated PBAs; (c) carrying out scientific and technical projects and programs, scientific research; (d) production of immunobiological medicinal and diagnostic preparations; (e) control of nutrient solution, medicines and drugs; and (f) research within the framework of the World Health Organization's Global Disease Surveillance Program.
