Order No. 82 of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources validating the Regulation on handling plant genetic resources.

This Regulation for handling plant genetic resources determines the procedure for handling the gene pool of the plant species, as well as access to information about conserved plant genetic resources. The conservation of the gene pool of the plant species is carried out through: (a) maintaining and restoring plant species and populations in places of their natural growth; and (b) preservation of plant diversity outside the places of its natural growth. The conservation of the gene pool of the plant species is carried out through: (a) maintaining and restoring plant species and populations in places of their natural habitats; and (b) preservation of plant diversity outside the places of its natural habitat. The preservation of plant diversity outside the places of its natural habitat is ensured through the artificial creation and maintenance of plantings, living collections of valuable plant species and (or) their varieties (forms), as well as maintenance in a controlled environment using various methods of conservation of plants from populations, their vegetative parts, seeds (spores). Information on conserved plant genetic resources is generated by competent authorities and provided annually no later than February 1 of the year following the reporting period to the national focal point for access to genetic resources and benefit-sharing.
