Abstract
This Ministerial Decree defines principles and measures concerning the development, sustainable use and management of forest reserves, forest land, in order to make forest resources abundant and protect the natural forest ecosystem, the biodiversity, wild animals and wild flora, and the environment. The Decree concerns: mountain areas in forest reserves; national and local forest reserves; different types of protected forest; registration of protected forest land; activities for the proper management of a protected forest area, including: mapping and geological survey, labelling of trees and plant species, fighting forest fires, protection of prohibited areas, protection of wildlife habitats, control of pollution; categories of use of forest reserves, and permitted activities, including timber collection under permission; transformation and management of forest resources; forest service and roles of authorities in charge of forest management; inspection of forest reserves.
