Decree No.474 on control of good price and service fee. Decree on the Management of Prices of Goods and Fees of Services, No. 474/PM.

This Decree establishes the legal framework for state management of prices of goods and services in the Lao PDR. It aims to maintain price stability, protect the lawful rights and interests of business operators and consumers, and safeguard state interests, while respecting market mechanisms under state supervision.
More specifically, the Decree defines key terms, sets principles such as transparency and non-discrimination, and authorizes price control and price monitoring measures when necessary. These include determining price structures, setting maximum or minimum prices, managing reserve stocks, subsidization, and adjusting supply and demand. The Ministry of Industry and Commerce and its local authorities are designated as the primary price management bodies responsible for implementation and enforcement.
