Abstract
The Law sets rules for the management of electricity-related activities and other energy resources for the purpose of national development and environmental protection. Electricity refers to energy comprising electrical energy produced by water power, wind power, solar power, petroleum and coal.
The Law defines which organizations have authority to approve different sized electricity projects.
The Law sets out procedures to request a concession from the Government to undergo operations relating to electricity. The Law also provides for rights and obligations of concessionaires, and for the maximum term of a concession for hydropower development which shall be 30 years, extendable by the Government in certain circumstances.
The Law further provides for: conditions of electricity production, transmission and distribution; electricity export and import; electricity development in the localities and in rural areas; electricity administration and inspection agencies; measures against violators; etc.
