Abstract
The Lao Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry issued guidelines for exporting large livestock and farms to China, aligning with bilateral sanitary regulations and One Belt One Road cooperation. Animals must originate from licensed farms certified under Lao regulations, weigh at least 350 kg, and be under four years old. They require strict health checks, vaccinations, and quarantine periods, ensuring freedom from major diseases like Foot and Mouth Disease and Brucellosis. Transport and handling must comply with animal welfare standards and biosecurity measures.
Export farms must meet stringent criteria, including proper location, infrastructure, hygiene, and environmental management. Facilities should ensure safe housing, clean water, quality feed, and disease prevention systems. Farms must maintain detailed records, employ trained personnel, and implement biosecurity and veterinary protocols to guarantee compliance and sustainability.
