Law No. 03/NA on Livestock Production and Veterinary Matters.

This Law on Livestock Production and Veterinary Matters defines the principles, rules and regulations related to the organization, management and inspection of livestock production and veterinary activities in order to boost, promote and develop the nation's potential in animal production and related livestock resources. Its objectives are: to help to guarantee food security and ensure standards to safeguard consumers; to create the conditions necessary for the growth and development of the animal product processing industry; to participate and contribute to strong social and economic development (i.e. National Development); to help to create a better quality of life for the people of Lao PDR; and to ensure sustainable environmental protection. The Law is divided as follows: General provisions (I); Livestock Production (II); Animal Veterinary Matters (III); Rights, Duties and Obligations of Entrepreneurs and Consumers (IV); Final Prohibitions (V); Conflict Resolution (VI); Livestock Production and Veterinary Management and Inspections (VII); National Animal Vaccination Day, Uniform, Logo and Stamp of Service (VIII); Rewards and Penalties (IX) and Final Provisions (X).
