Ministerial Decision no. 0188/MAF, on the Establishment and Management of Zoos, Wildlife Farms, Wildlife and Wild Plant Rehabilitation and Breeding Centers.

This Decision, implementing provisions of the Forestry Law no. 06/NA and of the Wildlife and Aquatic Resources Law no. 07/NA, concerns the establishment and management of zoos, wildlife farms, animal breeding centres and botanical gardens, in order to promote breeding and tourism without affecting the nature, the environment and habitats. Matters covered by this Decision include; trade in species and related certificates in compliance with the provisions of the CITES Convention; export of wild animals and wild plants; prohibited activities related to wild animals and wild plants, including: hunting and breeding without authorisation, import and export of wildlife and wildlife products without authorisation, torturing wild animals and taking actions against animal welfare, transport of infected animals, bribery and corruption in the execution of activities related to wildlife; measures for managing zoos and wildlife breeding centres.
