Decree No. 8006 of 2002 defining the kinds of waste caused by sanitary establishments and drainage systems.

This Decree consists of 5 Chapters divided into 18 articles and 5 Annexes. Chapter 1 contains general provisions. Chapter 2 deals with non hazardous waste similar to municipal waste. Chapter 3 refers to hazardous and infectious waste. Chapter 4 pertains to hazardous non-infectious waste. Chapter 5 provides for sanitary establishment's waste with special treatments. Chapter 6 contains final measures. Annex I contains classifies sanitary establishment's waste. Annex II contains hazardous non-infectious waste. Annex III contains the List of hazardous waste characteristics. Annex IV deals with the Verification and ascertainment of the efficacy of the sterilization operation and system. Annex V contains the biological hazardous symbols.
