Law No. 708 of 1998 creating a natural protected area in the zone of Jeftlik Ras Alain-Tyre.

This Law decrees the creation of a natural protected area on surface of 3.883.253 square metres in the zone of Jeftlik Ras Alain in the province of Tyre. Furthermore, it extends on the sandy coast in front of the aforementioned area and on the territorial waters parallel to the coast. The creation of this protected area aims at the following: protection of vegetal, animal and natural environment; populate the area with wild and aquatic plants, animals and birds; protection of the natural resources; soil conservation and pollution control. The protected area will be used as an habitat for fish, aquatic animals and birds threatened by extinction. The protected area will be submitted to the Ministry of the Environment.
