Memorandum of Understanding between Lebanese Standards Institution (LIBNOR) and the Cyprus Organization for Standardization (CYS) ratified by Decree No. 1490 of 6 March 2009.

The aim of this Memorandum is to strength the cooperation between the Parties in the field of standardization and certification. It is composed of 7 articles. Articles 1 to 5 deal with fields of cooperation between both Countries, which are: to make available to LIBNOR both draft and final European standards and to exchange remarks and comments on them; to make available to LIBNOR all information concerning national parameters prepared by CYS for Cypriot products for equivalent Lebanese products and materials; to formulate a separate agreement for the sale of European standards in Lebanon in order to make fully accessible to Lebanese industry at reasonable costs; CYS will allow LIBNOR to participate in its technical committee meetings; to cooperate in the field of certification by the formulation of joint certification schemes related to quality management systems (ISO 14001), Food Safety and Hygiene (HACCP), Occupational Health and Safety (OHSAS) and (CE Marketing); and, to cooperate in the field of training and Funding Programmes.
