Memorandum of Understanding between Lebanon and the International Union for Conservation of Nature–Centre for Mediterranean Cooperation for supporting the management of important marine habitants and species of Lebanon ratified by Decree No. 1741 of 14 April 2009.

This Understanding is composed of 4 articles. Article 1 defines the purpose of this Memorandum which is to cooperate on supporting the management of important marine habitants and species of Lebanon. Article 2 illustrates the project of this Memorandum which aims at the following: supporting the development of a network of marine protected areas; monitoring programme to evaluate the effectiveness of its management; identification and selection of potential marine protected areas for declaration; and, conservation of marine sensitive areas. Article 3 deals with roles and responsibilities of the Parties. Article 4 contains general provisions.
