Memorandum of Understanding between Lebanon and Switzerland concerning Lebanon Oil Spill Cleanup ratified by Decree No. 378 of 2008.

This Memorandum is composed of 8 articles. Article 1 contains the background. Article 2 deals with the purpose and objective of this Memorandum which are: to cooperate on assistance provided by SDO for the Lebanon Oil Spill Cleanup; and, to minimize the risk of recontamination on the surrounding marine and coastal environment.Article 3 pertains to legal basis. Article 4 defines roles and responsibilities of the Parties. Article 5 provides for implementaion arrangements. Articles 6 to 8 contain the following matters: special provisions; validity of the Memorandum; and, modification and dispute settlement.
