Abstract
The aims of this Memorandum are to: strength the cooperation between the Parties in the fields of technical regulations, standardization, metrology and accreditation and conformity assessment ; increase the mutual understanding of their respective systems; remove technical barriers to trade; enhance the flow of bilateral trade; and protect the safety and health of Lebanese and Turkish consumers. It is composed of 9 articles. Articles 1 to 7 deal with fields of cooperation between both Countries, which are to: establish a smooth channel for the exchange of technical cooperation, communication and information; establish the standardization Expert Group for the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding; set up the Contact Points as an alert system for Parties’ technical barriers; exchange information related to latest legislation; hold workshops, conferences and joint research; and, improve the collaboration in fields of standardization, certification, accreditation and metrology.

This Memorandum enters into force on the date of the receipt of the last written notification through diplomatic channels informing the completion of domestic legal procedures required for the entry into force of the Memorandum of Understanding.
