Abstract
This Policy for the protection of adolescents and youths in agricultural technical schools and training centers is a nationwide sectoral document, developed by the Ministry of Agriculture with the support of UNICEF and FAO, aiming to (i) allow adolescents to learn and increase their professional qualities, to undertake the path they are capable of; (ii) ensure their growth in a safe environment; (iii) offer the possibility of building social relationships. The strategic objectives of this Policy are as follows (i) to develop a national system that includes policies and laws to support young students in the sector; (ii) to ensure an educational environment that looks at personal and professional development through a culture based on safety, non-violence, risk management, new technology; (iii) create a prevention path for those young people who are most exposed to the dangers inside, and above all, outside the educational path; (iv) put an end to the dangers and reduce obstacles that threaten the development and health of students and that risk preventing them from continuing their education. The Ministry of Agriculture will establish the necessary criteria and procedures and draw up a sustainable work plan to achieve these goals.
