Resolution No. 45/1 of 1998 establishing the hygienic requirements and conditions for the importation of liquid, condensed and powdered milk.

This Resolution establishes the hygienic and technical requirements for the importation of liquid, condensed and powdered milk. The following documents are necessary for the importation of the milk sterilized by the UHT method, condensed and powdered milk: (a) the original invoice of the imported goods; (b) a certificate proves that the factory is licensed by the official authority; (c) official veterinary certificate and (d) radioactivity, bacteriologist and chemical analysis certificate from an authorized laboratory. The expiry date must be in conformity with Resolution No. 506/1 of 14 October 1996. The technical and hygienic requirements for milk-powder are: (a) it must be free from alkali, neutralizing agents, hormones and antibiotics; (b) is to be free flowing; (c) the quality must be extra grade of ADMI or ADPI; (d) the radioactivity must not exceed 100 bequerels/kg; and (e) the maximum level of stabilzers and emulsifiers in instant milk are indicated in the attached list. In addition to the abovementioned technical and hygienic requirements for milk-powder, skimmed milk-powder, whole milk-powder and party skimmed milk-powder must have the specific requirements indicated in the respective indexes. Article 5 establishes the technical and hygienic requirements for sweetened condensed milk, skimmed sweetened condensed milk, evaporated whole milk or unsweetened whole condensed milk and evaporated skimmed milk or unsweetened condensed skimmed milk. Article 6 establishes the requirements for UHT flavoured fluid milk. Article 7 establishes the technical and hygienic requirements for the milk prepared for calf nutrition.
