Resolution No. 499/1 of 2007 establishing the Unit for Exchange of Information on Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures.

This Resolution is composed of 4 articles. Article 1 decrees the establishment of the Unit for Exchange of Information on Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures and specifies its formation. Article 2 defines competencies and duties of the Unit, in particular: procedures and measures related to the sanitary and phytosanitary; laying down a mechanism for quarantine monitoring, inspection, production and treatment as well as for pesticide tolerance and food additives; mechanisms for risk assessment and appropriate level for the protection of health and phytosanitary; and, participation in and international conferences and meetings on health and phytosanitary.
