Abstract
This Resolution, consisting of 55 articles divided in 12 Chapters, aims at controlling the fishing practice in Lebanon. According to this Resolution, Lebanon, as regards the marine fishing, is divided into five zones, divided into smaller units.
Maximum charge of fisheries control is the Inspector of merchant marine and fishing. The Law deals also with: places where fishing is banned, permitted or prohibited in certain periods; nets, fishing devices, prohibited or restricted hunting methods; rules for fishing boats operating at the same time; provisions for protecting fishes and shells (sponge fishing is regulated by special laws); the prohibition of fishing with explosives; inspections of boats and equipment; fishing permits and fees.
