Statement of Intent between the Department of Energy of the United States of America and the Lebanese Customs Administration on the cooperation to prevent the illicit trafficking in nuclear and other radioactive material ratified by Decree No. 1566 of 2009.

This Statement of Intent is composed of 5 articles. Article 1 deals with the scope of cooperation in particular: the Department of Energy (DOE) may provide the Lebanese Customs Administration (LCA) technical assistance in the form of equipment, materials, training and services to detect and interdict illicit trafficking in special nuclear material and other radioactive material; delivery and installation of equipment adapted as appropriate for customs control conditions; delivery of spare parts kits, test equipment and the like to maintain the supplied equipment; and, technical support for maintenance of the equipment. Article 2 prohibits the transfer title or possession of equipment to other than within the Government of the Lebanese Republic. Article 3 pertains to taxes and customs treatment of equipment. Article 4 contains general provisions. Article 5 defines date of entry into force and duration of the Statement of Intent.
