Abstract
This Agreement is composed of 9 articles. The objectives of the Agreement are to: reduce the average environmental pollution produced by pesticides and fertilizers; create new mechanisms to improve farmer’s capacity in managing protected cultivations, according to the Integrated Production and Protection Management; improve the competition of greenhouse productions; train specialists and farmers; show the correct use of pesticides and fertilizers; control soil pollution; improve farmer’s incomes; and increase production (art. 2). Prospected achievements shall be: the creation of model projects for protected cultivations in greenhouses; the creation of an information centre for the technology of greenhouse’s crops; the issuance of guidelines and of agricultural guides (art. 3). Article 4 deals with work plans. Obligations of the Lebanese Ministry of Agriculture are outlined in article 5. Obligations of the Arab Centre for the Study of Dried and Arid Areas are specified in article 6. The remaining articles deal with: project’s management; the agreement’s duration; etc.

Entry into force notes
This Agreement enters into force on the date of accreditation of the competent authorities.
Notes
Decree No. 6347 of the Ministry of Agriculture shall implement the Technical Cooperation Agreement on protected cultivations between Lebanon and the Arab Centre for the Study of Dried and Arid Areas.
