Abstract
This Act sets forth provisions on agricultural charges on farming stock and assets, effect of fixed charge, effect of floating charge, notice of agricultural charge, supplementary provisions to agricultural charges, registration of agricultural charges, restriction on publication of agricultural charges, sanctions in case of fraud, validity of contracts for the advancement to a farmer of inputs or other items required for agricultural production, and obligations to make full disclosure of costs of inputs or other items and interest. The Minister may make regulations for carrying the provisions of this Act into effect and without prejudice to the generality of this section. Regulations may be made in the fields of (i) prescribing the manner in which the Register is to be kept, (ii) the filing of memoranda and agricultural charges, (iii) the removal of entries from the Register on proof of discharge, (iv) the rectification of the Register, (v) the form of a written notice or agricultural charge to be issued under this Act, and (vi) prescribing the fees required to be prescribed under this Act.
