Abstract
“Litter” is defined in section 2. Section 3 prescribes various littering offences in public places and related offences. A general penalty for these offences is prescribed in the same section. Section 4 provides for the enforcement of the removal of litter by the authorised officer, appointed under section 5 by notice in writing to the offender. Powers of authorised officers to enter premises are defined in section 6, whereas powers to remove and dispose of derelict vehicles is defined in sections 7 and 8. Section 10 provides for court action in case of continuing offence. The Minister may appoint Wardens for purposes of section 12. Regulation making powers of the Minister are specified in section 13.
