Abstract
These Regulations implement provisions of the Plant Protection Act 1988 with respect to designation of ports of entry (reg. 3), entry requirements and plants exempted from requirements (regs. 4 and 5), phytosanitary certificate for imported plants (reg. 6), admissibility of fruits and vegetables (reg. 7), requirements for importation of in-vivo planting material (reg. 8) of in-vitro planting material (reg. 9), of plant pests (reg. 10) and of soil (reg. 11). They also make provision with respect to mail importation (reg. 12), packing materials (reg. 13), planting material subject to safeguard regulations (reg. 14), exportation of plants (reg. 15) and import permits (reg. 16). The Regulations are completed by three Schedules specifying ports of entry (1), forms (2) and import restrictions (3). The Third Schedule lists major economic crops the unrestricted importation of which would pose a pest risk in Saint Lucia. It specifies restrictions for each plant genera.
