Abstract
This Order, made by the Minister responsible for agriculture under section 10(1) of the Water and Sewerage Act, Cap. 9.03, declares a water-related emergency, after the advice of the Water Resource Management Agency that an exceptional shortage of rain may cause a serious deficiency of supplies of water. According to the Order, any person must not use, under liability on summary conviction to a fine, water supplies by or obtained from the pipes of the Water and Sewerage Company for the following activities: washing of a vehicle using a hose; watering of a lawn, hedge, garden, farm, ground and recreational field; pressure-washing of a house using a hose or watering or washing a roadway, pavement, path, garage or out-room; concrete mixing and block-making; fill a leaking or an overflowing storage tank and a swimming pool; raw water abstraction from the Water and Sewerage Company infrastructure; any other activity which may require the use of a considerable or excessive quantity of water.
