Abstract
This Order, made under section 10(1) of the Water and Sewerage Act, Cap. 9.03, provides for declaring a water-related emergency in case of an exceptional shortage of rain, or in case of contamination of water, or if a serious deficiency of supplies of water occurs. The Order prohibits the following activities and the prohibitions apply in all areas of the island of Saint Lucia served by drought-affected water supply systems: use of water for: washing of a vehicle using a hose; watering of a lawn, hedge, garden, farm, ground and recreational field; watering or washing a roadway, pavement, path, garage; concrete mixing and block-making; filling a leaking or an overflowing storage tank and a swimming pool; diverting and abstracting water from Water and Sewerage Company network; any activity which may require the use of a considerable or excessive quantity of water.
