Abstract
The present Act applies to vertebrates. The government determines to which extent the Act shall be applied also to invertebrates taking into account the latest scientific evidence of the sensitiveness of invertebrate animals. The text consists of 43 articles divided into 8 Parts as follows: General provisions (I); Handling of animals (II); Organization and implementation (III); Administrative measures (IV); Animal Welfare Officer (V); Legal remedies (VI); Penalties (VII); Transitional and final provisions (VIII).
