Abstract
This Act is implementing the EU Regulation 2017/2394 that pertains to the cooperation between national authorities responsible for enforcing consumer protection laws within the European Economic Area (EEA). The primary aim of the Act is to enhance the collaboration between national consumer protection authorities across EEA member states, the European Commission, and the Surveillance Authority. This initiative seeks to address cross-border infringements of consumer rights more effectively, especially in light of the rapid growth of digital technologies and online marketplaces. By modernizing cooperation mechanisms, the law intends to ensure swift and efficient enforcement of consumer protection laws across borders. The Act provides for the measures that are designed to strengthen the overall consumer protection landscape within the EEA by ensuring that authorities can work together seamlessly to address and rectify infringements. The Act consists of 21 Articles and has one Appendix.
