Abstract
This Ordinance establishes comprehensive regulations to protect the public from harmful or disturbing non-ionizing radiation, such as that produced by electrical and magnetic fields from stationary installations operating between 0 Hz and 300 GHz. The Ordinance defines key terms, sets strict emission and immission (exposure) limits for both new and existing installations—including power lines and transformer stations—and requires technical and operational measures to minimize exposure, especially in sensitive areas. It mandates regular monitoring, reporting, and, if necessary, remediation or shutdown of non-compliant installations, with specific deadlines for compliance and provisions for exceptions only under stringent conditions. The regulation also requires coordination among operators of public mobile networks to minimize cumulative exposure, and it details documentation and data-sharing requirements with the Office for the Environment. The text consists of 18 articles divided into 4 Parts. Two Annexes are enclosed.
