Abstract
General objects of the Agrarian Research and Training Institute shall be: (a) to foster, assist, encourage and cooperate in agrarian research; (b) to carry out research relating to agricultural development and modernisation; (c) to undertake investigations and research relating to economic use of land for agricultural purposes. For the purpose of carrying out its objects the Institute shall have inter alia the following powers: (a) acquire, take or give on lease or hire, mortgage, sell or otherwise dispose of, any movable or immovable property; (b) install and operate field training centres and pilot projects; (c) levy fees or charges for any services rendered by the Institute; (d) establish and maintain funds; (e) enter any land or premises for the purpose of carrying out investigations and recording data. Further provisions concern the establishment of the Board of Governors, which shall administer the affairs, may exercise the powers, and shall perform the duties of the Institute. Part II regulates the appointment of the Director of the Institute and other officers and servants of the Board. Part III concerns the financial management of the Institute. General provisions are contained in Part IV.
