Abstract
This Law amends and consolidates the Law relating to Fisheries in Sri Lanka. Amendments deal with the following issues: establishment of Fisheries Advisory Board; including duties, powers and functions of the board; general direction and control of the Minister, the Director shall be responsible for the administration of the provisions of this Ordinance; Prohibition of use of unregistered local Fishing boats in Sri Lankan fisheries waters; Regulation of landing of fish taken outside Sri Lankan fisheries waters; Registration of Local Fishing Boats; Restriction of importation of non-indigenous fish; Fishing Disputes; Powers of Officers. Offences, Registration of Mortgages, Regulations, etc.
