Food (Refined Wheat Flour Fortification) Regulations, 2022.

These Regulations are made by the Minister of Health in consultation with the Food Advisory Committee under Section 32 of the Food Act, No. 26 of 1980. Regulation 3 requires that a person manufacturing refined wheat flour for retail sale for domestic consumption or for manufacturing of bread shall fortify such refined wheat flour as provided. The folic acid range is stated in Regulation 3 and the iron type and level are mentioned in the Schedule. Regulations 4 and 5 contain the extraction rate for manufacturing of refined wheat flour for domestic consumption or for manufacturing bread or any other business.
