Abstract
These Regulations establish expiry requirements for imported food stuff. They specify that all items of food imported into the country shall posess at the point of entry into Sri Lanka, a minimum period of sixty percentum (60%) of unexpired shelflife. The Regulations do not apply in respect of imported fresh fruits, vegetables and potatoes which have not been peeled or cut. The period of shelflife of imported food shall be determined on the basis of the date of manufacture and the date of expiry as declared by the manufacturer of the product as depicted on the label.
