Abstract
The Minister may, by Order published in the Gazette, vest in the State land that is vested in the Land Reform Commission under the Land Reform Law. The Order shall: (a) specify the extent of agricultural or estate land; (b) make reference to the survey plan made by the Surveyor-General in respect of such land; (c) specify any servitude attaching to such agricultural or estate land. According to Section 2(3) every Order shall be final and conclusive and shall not be called in question in any court.
Moreover, the Act regulates the procedure to be followed for the transfer, free of charge, by the President of any portion of land vested in the State to any citizen of Sri Lanka over eighteen years of age. The transfer shall be made on the basis of the criteria set out in Section 3 and upon the conditions listed in section 5.
Further provisions concern the nomination of successors to State land transferred according to the above and the devolution of rights in State land in the absence of nomination of successors.
