Municipal Councils and Urban Councils (Amendment) Act, No. 61 of 1981.

This Act amends the Municipal Councils Ordinance and the Urban Councils Ordinance. Part I contains amendments to the Municipal Councils Ordinance. Sections 40, 145, 146, 147 and 148 are amended. A new section 148A is added after section 148 of the Municipal Councils Ordinance relating to orders by Magistrate. A new section 158A is added after section 154, relating to payment of incentives. Further, sections 188 and 267 are amended. A new section 286A is added and section 312 is substituted. In Part II of the Act, amendments to the Urban Councils Ordinance are provided. Sections 36 and 128 of the Urban Councils Ordinance are amended. New sections 128A, 153A and 209A are added.
