National Environmental (prohibition of the use of equipment for exploration, mining and extraction of sand and gem) Regulations, 2006.

These Regulations prohibit the use of equipment for the exploration, excavation, mining and extraction of sand or gem within any water body that may cause pollution or harm and damage the environment.
Equipment may be used only to remove any sand or rubble which may obstruct the natural flow of the water.
