Abstract
This Act establishes the National Hydrographic Office of Sri Lanka and lays down its objectives, powers and functions. It forms the National Hydrographic Council for the administration and management of the affairs of National Hydrographic Office. The Act provides for the appointment of a National Hydrographer and other officers and employees. It requires registration for carrying on the practice of a Hydrographic Surveyor or a Nautical Cartographer and lays down the procedure for the same.
