Abstract
This Ordinance aims to provide for the protection of produce in Sri Lanka. Section 2 includes definitions of relevant terms including 'labourer', 'plantation' and 'produce'. Section 4 lists produce that is prohibited for persons to be in possession of including tea plant, rubber plant and the fruit of a coffee plant or cardamom' plant. There are restrictions on the purchase of produce with persons requiring the written authority of the owner of the plantation to purchase or exchange produce (sect. 5).
