Abstract
This Policy aims at sustainable transformation of agriculture sector in Sri Lanka to a modernized agricultural sector that protects the stakeholders across the supply/value chain and interests of poor and marginal farmers. It presents the country profile and lays down the policy goals, vision and mission statement. The Policy contains 15 policy statements across 10 thematic areas: 1. Crop Production & Productivity; 2. Input Management; 3. Advanced Technologies; 4. Food Safety & Quality Management; 5. Eco-friendly Operations; 6. Agri-Entrepreneurship and Markets; 7. Producer Empowerment; 8. Climate resilience & other risk management; 9. Knowledge Management and Agricultural Extension; and 10. Governance and Operations Management. Each thematic area contains policy statements and policy actions which indicate the policy goals to be achieved, the related SDGs and the agencies responsible.
