Abstract
This Regulation of the Minister of Commerce and Industry provides rules for the commercialization of packaged drinking water within Liberia in order to ensure that such product meets the required regulatory requirements and is safe and healthy for the consumers. All packaged drinking water products shall initially meet the chemical, physical, and microbiological standards presented in Annex A of this Regulation as requirement for gaining access to local markets. Importers shall submit a certificate of analysis of the country of origin and both importers and local producers shall submit samples for testing. Quality assurance and control (also for packaging and labelling) shall be based on Codex Alimentarius (the standard is included in Annex A) and HACCP. Quality shall be monitored by the Ministry. Inspection of sources of waters shall be based on the WHO Guidelines for Drinking Water Quality.
