Liberian Industrial Standards - ICS 67.200.20. Fortified Food Grade Salt Specification.

This Standard prescribes the quality requirements and test methods for food grade salt, and applies to salt chemically known as sodium chloride crystals for food, both for direct consumption and for food manufacturing, and to such food grade salt used as a carrier of food additives and/or nutrients for human consumption. The Standard describes terminology and classification of types of salt, depending on its use: table salt, butter salt, kitchen or cooking salt. The Standard specifies essential composition and quality factors; fortification with iodine; packaging, labelling and storage and transport.
